Today's Conversation:
Burn-out Seen Through an IFS Lens
About The Program
Burnout is often framed as an individual failure — a body and mind that simply couldn't keep up. But what if burnout is also a systemic message, shaped by the worlds we live and work in?
In this program, Anna Thomas as a guest of IFS Assistant Trainer Alessio
Rizzo’s, brings together Internal Family Systems (IFS) and a queer lens to explore burnout differently.
IFS invites us to listen to the parts of us that are exhausted, driven, or shut down — with curiosity rather than judgment. A queer lens asks us to look at the larger forces at play: how heteronormative and cisgender-centric systems and (work) environments create specific and often invisible burdens, particularly for people whose identities place them outside the assumed norm.
Together, these perspectives open a path toward genuine recovery — not
just back to functioning, but toward a life that actually starts from the
inside out.
