About the Webinar
Can microbes help create better cosmetic ingredients? Discover how microbial biomanufacturing is transforming Australian native botanicals into high-performance bioactives with enhanced antioxidant activity, collagen support, skin brightening and post-UV recovery. Explore the science behind this emerging technology and what it means for future formulation innovation.
About the Speaker
Dr. Tristrom Winsley is Chief Scientific Officer at BiomeCentric, where he leads the translation of microbiome science into commercially scalable biotechnology. His work spans microbial ecology, genomics and bioprocessing, with a focus on developing bacterial extracellular vesicles (EVs) and microbiome-based active ingredients.
Dr. Winsley completed his PhD in Biotechnology at the University of New South Wales in 2012. His research explored microbial ecology in extreme environments, working alongside the Australian Antarctic Division to investigate biodiversity, microbial ecotoxicology and polar soil bacteria. He also contributed to advances in microbial cell isolation and bioprospecting through flow cytometry.
At BiomeCentric, he oversees the development and scale-up of biotechnology manufacturing, from next-generation sequencing (NGS) and microbiome-host analysis through to strain optimisation, biobank management, fermentation and downstream purification using technologies including tangential flow filtration (TFF) and chromatography.
With more than 1,700 academic citations across microbial ecology, bioinformatics, ecotoxicology and bioengineering, Dr. Winsley combines scientific rigour with commercial insight to ensure BiomeCentric's innovations are both scientifically robust and commercially relevant.
