​​​​​​​The mining, forestry, oil, and gas industries are vital to keeping our global economies running. And the communities within which they operate often benefit from the increased employment, infrastructure investment, and tax revenues they bring.

However, even with changes in technologies, practices, and regulatory oversight, many still worry about the environmental, community health, and indigenous group impact that new projects might bring. As a result, companies face increased risk of community opposition, costly issue resolution, and delayed or denied project approvals.
 
Many firms are looking to address these issues by more strategically gaining critical public, government, and other stakeholder support and building social capital. A key element to achieving these goals is stakeholder relationship management.
