What You Will Learn In The Webinar

Heavy duty vehicles are responsible for some 28% of the CO2 emissions in the EU. To reach “Net Zero” by 2050, several technologies will be needed – batteries, hydrogen and eFuels being the most popular ones.

The truck industry faces several “chicken-egg” problems that must be solved simultaneously:

· Integration of new drivetrains and storage systems without major changes in the truck architecture
· Properties of trucks should be “like Diesel”: Range, handling, safety, …
· Cost: The cost of the drivetrain, the storage system, the infrastructure and the fuel must be acceptable – also on an initial, small scale
· Truck OEMs and suppliers must develop and supply new products while still making enough money from the existing technology

One of the leading Tier 1 suppliers for the truck industry is Boysen Group from the Black Forest in Germany. Boysen is a specialist for exhaust gas treatment systems both for passenger cars and commercial vehicles – and they are investing heavily in hydrogen technologies as one key strategic element in their transition phase to assure they are a strong and a leading partner of zero emission truck OEMs.

In this webinar, Mathias Keck, Head of the innovation center of Boysen, will talk about hydrogen storage for trucks. He will explain the requirements from a truck perspective, compare different technologies for energy and especially hydrogen: gaseous, liquid and cryo-compressed.

He will also present their liquid hydrogen storage system for trucks that will allow a range of up to 1,000 km without refueling.

As always, you will get answers to your questions in the Q&A session.
