  • Mark Heywood is former Executive Director of SECTION27, was one of the founding members of the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) and is Editor of Maverick Citizen; the division of Daily Maverick dedciated to Civil Society.

  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Xhanti Payi is an economist and founding director of Nascence Advisory and Research, a business providing bespoke research solutions and business advisory and strategy services. With academic training from the University of Cape Town and the University of London, Payi has worked in Banking and Fund Management for over 13 years. He also writes a regular column on the Financial Mail, and has written for Business Day and the Financial Times.

  • Simon Gear​​​​​​​ is a broadcaster, writer and environmental scientist with two decades of experience. He has presented live TV or radio just about every day since November 1999 and has appeared on all of South Africa’s domestic television channels, many of the local radio stations (including being the daily science and weather correspondent for Talk Radio 702 and 567 Cape Talk).
