It is crucial to provide students with access to simple and practical practices that will extend the classroom experience into the home to sustain learning over a break. Prevent the summer slide with meaningful at-home learning experiences, allowing students to make powerful connections to the learning that takes place in the classroom. We will uncover effective strategies on how to use the summer months to accelerate learning.

In this session, you will learn how to assist students in taking control of their learning with engaging, structured activities and facilitate the problem-solving and critical-thinking skills needed to extend into the new school year.

    Alan Becker currently serves as an Academic Officer with TCM, specializing in best practices for curriculum and instruction. He provides professional development and training in the content areas of math, ELA, and social studies for school districts, teachers, and educational trainers. Prior to his work as an Academic Officer, Mr. Becker served as a District Elementary Education Specialist with Pitt County Schools in Greenville, North Carolina.
