Social Studies & Science Made Easy
TKS Research Projects In The Classroom
As a teacher, I believe in doing what’s best for my students, but I also do what my district asks of me. This means providing tools and scaffolding so my students can be successful. So, if research and writing are standards, I want to find a way to make that goal accessible to my students in ways that they can be successful. I decided that research projects should be a fun, engaging way to research and write in kindergarten. This webinar will show you how they work!
Whole-Group Instruction - The Research
You will read books during whole group that provides the "research." You'll also use schema maps that encourges your students to think and engage their knowledge of the subject area at the beginning and the end of each of the research projects.
Writing & Independent Research
Writing is a major part of our research projects and reinforces the students learning by writing about what they learned during whole group. There are also individual student journals for the students to complete in small group or independently. So you can easily differentiate the learning.
Vocabulary
Activities are included that help expand your students vocabulary on the subject at hand.
Centers
Most of our Research Projects include math & literacy centers that are themed for the subject. This is just an added bonus to help you build up your math & literacy center activities!
