IFSCC WEBINAR SERIES

My Unlikely Path to Cosmetic Science:
a Panel Discussion

About the Webinar - Panel Discussion

Ask any cosmetic chemist what they wanted to be when they were a child, and chances are no one will answer "cosmetic scientist".

Three IFSCC Praesidium Members share their journey from high school to success in the cosmetic science industry. This lively panel discussion will be moderated by IFSCC Education Chair, Perry Romanowski.

Prof. Vania Leite will be rejoining the IFSCC Praesidium this fall, as the President of the Associação Brasileira de Cosmetologia, representing the IFSCC 2025 Brazil Congress. She is a Professor at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo.

Katsunori Yoshida has represented the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Japan on the IFSCC Praesidium since 2016 and has been an integral part of the IFSCC 2020 Yokohama Congress planning. He works at Shiseido (Japan).

Emanuele Piras started his tenure as IFSCC President during the 2019 IFSCC Milan Conference. He has worked in technical sales at Merck Group since 2008.

Perry will ask our panelists questions such as:

  • When you were a child, what career did you envision?
  • When you started college/university, what was your major, and what career did you plan at that time?
  • When you graduated college/university, what was your major?  What was your first job?
  • If you pursued an advanced degree, how long did you work between undergraduate and graduate school?
  • What advanced degree(s) did you receive?
  • What would surprise people to learn about your career?
  • Any words of advice for young scientists, or those looking to move into cosmetic science?

Join us for a fascinating discussion.
