For over 20 years the South African Society of Cosmetic Chemists (COSCHEM) has offered a 2-year certificate course in cosmetic science. Intended as an introduction to our industry, this certificate has been essential to entry-level chemists in South African.

The IFSCC is proud to offer the actual course material used in this successful certificate program. Written and updated by long-time COSCHEM Member and former IFSCC President, Roy Gardiner, this is the second of Roy's many course modules we will share over several years.

For information on the South African Society's 2 year course (available remotely), visit their website at www.coschem.co.za.

After this webinar on Colour Cosmetics you should be able to:
- understand the importance of colour and how we observe it
- understand the diference between organic and inorganic pigments, synethic and natural dyes
- understand the properties of pearlescent pigments
- employ the basic pigment dispersion techniques used in color cosmetics
Our sincere thanks to Roy and COSCHEM for allowing the IFSCC to share this wealth of knowledge with our global Members.
