A SPECIAL DAILY MAVERICK LIVE WEBINAR
Children & Covid-19: Everything they need to know about the virus and the vaccine
About The Webinar
Coronavirus affects mostly older people and those with underlying chronic conditions, and as a result children are not a part of the Covid-19 vaccination rollout at this stage. Nonetheless Covid affects us all one way or another. Yet children and families mostly lack access to easily understandable information about the Covid-19 vaccine which can help day to day decision making and ease anxiety and fears. It also leads to misinformation, fake news, stigma and fear manifesting in various communities and settings that children are part of.
In a special Daily Maverick live journalism webinar, Maverick Citizen Editor Mark Heywood, Professor Salim Abdool-Karim and Alex White, a young reporter at award-winning RX Radio, will open up the intergenerational dialogue as they discuss questions asked by children and the importance of hearing children’s voices regarding behaviour change and the Covid-19 pandemic
