Neuroinflammation and Complex Brain Disorders

Neuroinflammation is a chronic inflammation of the central nervous system and has long been studied for its connection to the development and progression of Multiple Sclerosis. However, new research is increasingly finding that not only are many cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia related to neuroinflammation, but classic mental diseases such as schizophrenia, bipolar and depression, as well as autism, may also be connected to brain inflammation.
