About The Webinar

This World Food Day 16 October 2020, we reflect that good food must be good for people and for the planet.

The COVID-19 pandemic has escalated our discussions about food, with an emphasis on health, trust and equity. It has fast-tracked debates on nutritional offerings and choices, partnering to provide healthy foods that boost our immune system and reduce disease, and working together towards a sustainable, resilient and robust food ecosystem that protects biodiversity and is future-proofed to withstand other pandemics and climate shocks.

We invite government, private sector, academia, NGOs, communities and civil society to join this live webcast sponsored by Danone Southern Africa as experts from Danone, Pick n Pay, the WWF and the farming community address pertinent issues:

  • Partnerships for healthy dietary choices to enhance immunity and alleviate diseases
  • Transitioning to a circular economy and sustainable packaging
  • Improving food accessibility and addressing food waste
  • Driving sustainable farming practices
  • Food transparency to empower consumers to take informed decisions.
