After a full season as a starter on The University of Nebraska football team, he, unfortunately, suffered a career-ending back injury. This led to him being one hundred pounds overweight and a future full of potential physical limitations. 

He decided to make some changes, which let him on a journey that has completely changed his health and the health of some of his closest loved ones. 

The idea of changing the way you eat may seem daunting. We know it was for us when we first adopted a plant-based diet.

    Robby was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12 and has been living a low-fat, plant-based, whole-food lifestyle since 2006. He graduated from the University of Florida, and is a cofounder of Mastering Diabetes. He worked at Forks Over Knives for 6 years before deciding to coach people with diabetes to exceptional health.

  • Gabriel Miller

    Gabriel Miller is an author, speaker, chef, and avid gardener. Gabriel was a starting football player at the University of Nebraska until he suffered a career-ending back injury. Unable to maintain his previously active lifestyle, Gabriel began searching for ways to lose weight and become healthy through his diet. Now 100 pounds lighter than his playing weight, Gabriel runs his blog, Plant Based Gabriel, which is focused on helping individuals and families transition to a plant-based diet and vegan lifestyle. In addition to producing helpful recipes and videos, Gabriel also loves working on his vegan and organic vegetable farm.
