Why We Love the Performance Chain!
About The Webinar
The Performance Chain is one of the two simple mental/visual models of Performance Thinking®. It depicts what a behavior scientist would call the elements of analysis – parts of performance that we can identify, measure, and manange in order to optimize the value that individuals, teams, and processes contribute to organizational results.
Dr. Binder will unpack this deceptively simple model, explain its origins, rationale, and the many ways we use it. Simple as it is, this is a powerful framework for analyzing and improving human performance. The agenda will cover these topics:
Background, Origins, and Rationale
The purpose of Performance Thinking® has been to make the concepts discoveries of human performance improvement accessible to everyone, across levels and roles in any organization. We'll explain its conceptual history.
Performance Improvement Logic
You'll learn how the Performance Chain sets the context for a "logic" that we teach, a flexible sequence of steps for "thinking through" performance and clarifying for all involved what we're talking about, and what we can improve.
Connecting to Behavior Influences and the Six Boxes® Model
As our colleagues and certified Performance Thinking® Practitioners know, we expand the far left element of the Performance Chain – Behavior Influences – with the systemic Six Boxes® Model of Behavior Influence, voted by participants at the 2022 annual conference of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) as "the best performance model in the world."
