Encore with Dr. Peter Dams
In February 2022, we conducted a webinar devoted to applying Performance Thinking and its accomplishment-based approach to the already-mature work of Dr. Peter Dams, who has facilitated strategic planning for companies, nonprofits, and government organizations, large and small, for more than 25 years.
In that discussion, and in discussions leading up to it, Peter decided to insist that his clients agree on strategic objectives that are accomplishments, not activities. Accomplishments provide clear, easy to verify goals for organizational and business development, for any level of organizational planning.
For over 3 years in our frequent conversations, and in Peter's work with many clients, we have learned quite a lot, confirming the decision to be accomplishment-based, and extending our understanding of what a difference that makes.
In this webinar, we'll discuss what Peter has learned in the three years since. Always insightful and fresh in his thinking, Peter brings a wealth of ideas and recommendatons to anyone planning for the future success of their organization. What You Will Learn In The Webinar
How to identify accomplishments
Accomplishments are valuable products of behavior, not merely completion of behavior.
How measuring accomplishments is easier
We can identify when accomplishments have been achieved, and count them.
How accomplishments lead to execution
When we define what our activities are intended to produce, we can more easily identify milestones in project plans.
Additional insights and benefits
As with accomplishment-based performance improvement, an accomplishment-based approach to strategic planning has practical benefits for planning and execution.
