TMA Virtual Campus: The Power of Optimism with Eleanor Winton
As bells rang at midnight on 31st December 2019, how many of us felt positive? 2020 was supposed to be the year of the hoverboard but instead bush fires raged across Australia, destruction of the Amazon rain forest was accelerating and we were painfully aware that we had just 10 years left to save our planet from irreversible climate change. Today, still immersed in a global pandemic, it feels tough to be optimistic about the future.
But, as the great philosopher Billy Ocean once said...when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
In this webinar, Eleanor makes the case for vision, optimism and energy as a route to addressing the greatest disruption in human history - climate change. We'll travel through time together, exploring the best of what's out there and working on our own optimism muscles, always with an eye to building a future for the many, not just the few. Eleanor will specifically explore the role of marketing in selling a positive vision of the future and engaging the optimism and enthusiasm we will need to make good things happen.
After a 10 year career investigating historical fraud, misconduct and money laundering, Eleanor flipped her perspective and embarked on a career in innovation and foresight. As head of KPMG's Future Institute in the UK, she developed a radically different approach to engaging with leadership teams that stretched their thinking and focussed on their role and responsibilities in the global context. Now, as the founder of Foresightfully, Eleanor continues to challenge and encourage her clients to build a better future. Together with a friend and former colleague Eleanor is writing a book (due out later this year) which seeks to empower business leaders to Act Upon Disruption. She is a sought after public speaker known for her high energy and engaging consulting style.
