SEED WORLD INNOVATION WEBINAR SERIES
Harnessing the Power of Machine Learning for a Breeding Program
About The Webinar
Applying machine learning technology to your breeding program provides the genetic information to make a step change, and increase genetic gain each cycle. Receive first hand insights and experiences from a corn breeder using Computomics’ machine learning technology.
Participants will learn:
Understand the importance of using a robust data set that allows you to access the full genetic potential
Utility of building population structures for future genetic improvements
How to apply machine learning technologies to your breeding program and understanding its benefits
How to ask significant questions to define your target

Dr. Keith Rufener
G. Keith Rufener II has a MS and PhD from Ohio State University in Plant Breeding and Quantitative Genetics with a post-doc in Molecular Genetics. His career as a commercial breeder coincides with the introduction and development of molecular markers and their application to plant breeding. His career is best described as an evolution of applying quantitative genetics and molecular marker technology to modern plant breeding for the development of commercial quality genetics and hybrids. Dr. Keith Rufener II joined Beck’s Hybrids 9 years ago as a Quantitative Geneticist/corn breeder. His broad experience in plant genetics and corn breeding together with his passion and curiosity significantly advanced Beck’s corn breeding program. Keith develops commercial hybrids always having the success of the farmer as his primary goal.
