Today's speakers are leaders in their fields. 

  • Dr. Christine Hartford

    Dr. Hartford, a pediatrician and faculty at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine, will speak about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders result from alcohol use during pregnancy. These disorders can affect fetal development, childhood health and development.

  • Carlton Hall

    Mr. Hall, former CADCA trainer and principal at Carlton Hall Consulting, is a stalwart champion for community-led efforts to address substance abuse prevention. His presentation, Changing the Conversation: The Role of Prevention, Treatment, Recovery and Inequity in a Time of National Crisis will help address the interconnectedness of these seemingly disparate topics in light of current crises.

  • Shawna Burns, LPC, LADAC

    Ms. Burns, a a licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor, will address the role of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they are connected to  the development of other behaviors, including substance misuse, and mental health issues.
