About the Experts:

Dr. Nicole Acevedo

​​​​​​​Dr. Nicole Acevedo began her work in the safer consumer goods space in 2015 with the express goal of helping expand and refine the scientific standards used to define safer, more sustainable ingredients within the personal care industry. 

Dr. Acevedo received her doctorate in Molecular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Michigan and her postdoctoral research at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Acevedo is currently involved with international working groups engaged in creating viable business solutions for cleaner, safer, more sustainable product development across different industries.

Dr. Mojgan Moddaresi

Mojgan Moddaresi is a PharmD with PhD in cosmetic science. She has experience in working in the pharmaceutical, biopharma in quality and formulation roles and extensive experience in the cosmetic industry. She is a chartered biologist (CBiol), a fellow of Royal society of biology (FRSB), Full member of British toxicology society (BTS) and member of the UK cosmetic scientists society (SCS).
 
She is the managing director of Personal Care Regulatory Ltd. The company has over 10 years of experience in dealing with compliance of cosmetic products with offices in the UK and Ireland. The company has known for its expertise and unique Tox-software and has helped over hundreds of brands launching in the UK and the EU.
 

Perry Romanowski - Debate Moderator

Perry has been formulating cosmetic products and inventing solutions to solve consumer problems since the early 1990’s. Additionally, he has written and edited numerous articles and books, taught continuing education classes for industry scientists, and developed successful websites. His most recent book, Beginning Cosmetic Chemistry 3rd Edition, is available for free to IFSCC Members at IFSCC.org in the Learning Center (in the Publications section); registration required.​​​​​​​
