Marty Ruby, FSA
Martin Ruby, FSA is CEO of Stonewood Financial. He focuses on tax-efficient retirement income strategies. A noted author and public speaker, Martin wrote The No-Compromise Retirement Plan, which professional colleagues have praised for its eye-opening discussion on saving in today's market and tax environments. An actuary and respected business leader, Martin has served in senior leadership positions in the financial and insurance industry, and brings his background in risk management to today’s top financial concerns for savers.
Becky Swansburg
Becky Swansburg did not set out to become an author or an authority on retirement saving. With a background in communication and government, she spent her early career working in Congress and the White House, assisting government leaders with some of the most pressing issues facing our nation. Becky’s work on tax policy and America’s savings habits turned her attention toward the urgent needs of today’s retirees. Becky brings her policy background and extensive communication knowledge as author of The No-Compromise Retirement Plan.
Ken Sweitzer
Since 1982, Ken has helped retirees and pre-retirees who want to preserve their retirement income. He has made independence and the client’s best interest his focus. Ken is an independent financial professional who creates custom financial strategies with clients’ passions in mind. He has a degree in finance from the University of Connecticut and has continued his connection with the university as their Football Sideline Reporter for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. A resident of Old Lyme, Connecticut, Ken and his wife of 30 years, Cari, have three children: KC, Sam and Sloane. Ken enjoys spending time outdoors and is an avid hiker and golfer. He has played a variety of other sports as well and remains one of the most decorated student athletes in the history of University of Connecticut football. Ken is a past vice president of the Board of Directors of The Children’s Center of Hamden. He was a board member for 20 years. Ken also served on the advisory board of Shoreline Bank, which is now Webster Bank. Kens most proud involvement has been with the Shirley French Lilac Foundation. An organization started by Ken and his siblings in 2004 that raises money for pancreatic cancer research in memory of their mother.
Sam Sweitzer
Sam’s drive is to aid families in achieving their life goals through increasing client awareness of and creating plans for their financial futures. Sam has passed the Series 65 securities exam and also has his insurance license. Prior to being an advisor, he served clients as an associate auditor in the Greater-Boston Area for Deloitte. While there, he gained insight into banking and financial institutions. Sam’s family and love of nature brought him back to the CT shoreline where he enjoys boating, camping, and hiking. Sam earned a master’s and bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Connecticut. His tax-focused experience made for a natural progression from auditing to financial advising.
