  • Carl Newberg

    Carl Newberg is the Manager of Applications Engineering at Simco-Ion, an ITW Company, where he develops ionization solutions for High Technology manufacturing. He holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering, an M.S. in Materials Science, and a professional engineer’s license. Carl has served as ESD Program Manager at Western Digital Corporation and has been involved in ESD programs at Seagate Technology and IBM Corporation. A member of the ESD Association since 1995, Carl has held several key positions, including Board member (2005-2011) and various symposium chair roles. He chairs standards committees WG3-Ionization and WG28-Electrostatic Attraction. He has taught multiple ESD seminars and co-authored Contamination and ESD Control in High Technology Manufacturing.
