In January 49 teams from 41 universities in 18 countries on 5 continents have joined the ReThink Protein Challenge'2. Their mission? To come up with a cutting edge solution to accelerate protein transition.

On 3 June, after six months of exciting struggle, Wim Hilbrands (DSM, chair of the selection committee) will reveal the Finalists of the Challenge, the top 12 teams who make a chance to win a prize pool of € 15 000!

As a prelude to this moment Gerda Feunekes (The Netherlands Nutrition Centre) and Marleen Onwezen (Wageningen Economic Research) will discuss the consumer perspective on protein transition.  Their will reflect on factors that influcence consumer readiness to buy alternative products, discuss strategies to motivate people to change their diets and explain why we want to eat vegan but fail to eat less meat.
