About the Webinar

This webinar is a repeat of a presentation I gave at the IFSCC Benefactors’ symposium held in Shanghai in March of this year. It will highlight some of the challenges the surfactants industry is facing in making surfactants ever more sustainable.

About the Speaker:

Tony Gough has a PhD in organic chemistry and has worked in research & development and technical roles within the personal care product industry for over 35 years. He is Director of Innovation for Sustainability at Innospec UK and has been with the Company since 2012. Prior to this, he held management/senior management roles in R&D/technical functions at Unilever Research, Alberto-Culver, COSi, Surfachem and ISP/Ashland. Dr. Gough has extensive knowledge of surfactants synthesis, the science and formulation of surfactant based systems and formulating a wide range of personal care product types. He is also Immediate Past President of the IFSCC, was President of CESIO from 2021 to 2023 and is a member CESIO’s Executive Committee. He is also a past President of the UK and Ireland’s Society of Cosmetic Scientists (SCS) and is still active in the SCS as a member of its International Journal of Cosmetic Science (IJCS) committee, is on the IJCS editorial board, and has recently been appointed Honorary Treasurer of the SCS.
