How to Build Your Own Sensei: A few weeks ago OpenAI announced an enhancement to ChatGPT: the ability to create your own "GPTs" or personal AI apps using natural language and no programming. These apps can incorporate specific data that you can upload from text, PDF and Office documents. In this webinar we will create a "Lean Sensei" GPT from scratch!

Brainstorming and Idea Generation: Learn how AI can aid in brainstorming sessions, providing data-driven insights and creative solutions to manufacturing challenges. AI's ability to analyze vast datasets can lead to innovative ideas that may otherwise be overlooked.

1. Introduction to AI in Lean Manufacturing: Discover the synergy between AI and Lean principles. Understand how AI can emulate a Lean Sensei, offering guidance and insights derived from data analytics and machine learning.
Potential New Apps
We will also spend some time looking at potential AI apps that don't yet exist (as far as we know). There are also applications that don't need a specialized app at all, that can be accomplished by using ChatGPT or other LLMs directly!
Detailed Process Flow Data
The AI system was then challenged further with detailed station-by-station and product-by-product data, including descriptions of the process flow. This data came directly and without modification from our Lean Design Simulator data file format. With this more detailed level of data we were able to drill quite a bit deeper with our questions. We'll give you a full report.
Build Tools With (Almost) Free Resources
Free free to invest thousands or millions in software to help you manage a Mixed Model line with models, but you don't need to. We will be covering some of the free or inexpensive ways to get started:

1. The Lean Design Simulator. We've created a low learning-curve tool to help you build discrete-event simulation models without needing to start a new career. We'll show you some examples of how it works.
2. Use software you already have. Visual Basic for Application (VBA) is incredibly powerful, and already built into Excel. Don't know how to write VBA code? Let ChatGPT do the work for you!
3. Want to upgrade your model-building software? Commercial simulation software is readily available, but there are some free options as well. We will check out two of them: having ChatGPT use free simulation libraries to write a Python program for you, and using Open Source software like JaamSim.
Buffers and Sequencing Rules
One of the biggest challenges of a Mixed Model Line Design is the setting of optimum buffer (In Process Kanban) sizes, and in the development of sequencing rules. We ask AI to tackle this, which it did with confidence (which we then tested).
Running Simulation Models With Simulation Software
Finally, I ask the AI system to actually "run" the simulation model, since we had provided all of the necessary data. It then proceeded happily to do so, and we'll report on the AI simulation results versus running the model with real simulation software.
