On Earth As It Is In Heaven

Embracing A Biblical Worldview for 2021

What Will You Embrace?

This past year has definitely presented all of us with obstacles to overcome. Yet, in every obstacle there is an opportunity to respond. And now is not the time to give in to discouragement or to give up on our Church. As Mordecai said in Esther 4:14, “...Perhaps you have come to royal dignity for just such a time as this.” Now is the time to actively press into the Word and carefully follow in the loving and evangelistic footsteps of Jesus.

As we enter a new year, Marcus Peter will join us to provide some encouragement and direction as to how we can embrace an authentically biblical worldview in 2021. Marcus will walk us through the Scriptures and show us how the Word of God gives us a path forward for living with a missional mindset and roots us in our identity as sons and daughters of God.

  • Marcus Peter

Marcus Benedict Peter was born in 1988 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Born into a Catholic family, he spent many years as a militant atheist before encountering a life-changing conversion experience on May 20, 2008, an experience he affectionately remembers as the day Jesus saved his life. Marcus spent the first 2 years of his "converted" life journeying with Protestant Pentecostal ecclesial communities as a praise leader and itinerant preacher. Through prayerful study of Scripture and Philosophy, the influence of a faithful Catholic friend and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin, he found his way back into the Catholic Church and returned home in full communion in 2010. From then, he has devoted all his time and efforts to serving the Lord and Holy Mother Church by studying Scripture and Tradition, proclaiming the fullness of revealed truth in youth ministry, adult catechesis, faith formation, retreats and evangelization. 4 of these years was spent as a missionary seminarian with the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) from 2012-2015. Over the past 12 years, Marcus has spoken in hundreds of sessions and retreats across Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines and the United States on a wide array of topics pertaining to the Christian Faith, including Biblical Theology, Catholic Spirituality, Apologetics and Catechesis. His theological research has mostly been focused on Biblical Covenant Theology, employing the research of scholars such as Dr. Jon D. Levenson, Dr. Gregory K. Beale, and, most of all, Pope Benedict XVI. He also has a passion for the Systematic Theology of St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine of Hippo. He has written and submitted several papers in these areas, some of which are published or being reviewed for publication. Marcus received his Bachelor's Degree in Corporate Communications in Malaysia in 2011. After that, he received formation in Philosophy, Psychology and Alphonsian Spirituality in seminary. He received his MA in Theology from Ave Maria University, Florida in 2018. Most recently, he is pursuing a Theology Doctorate in the field of Biblical Theology. Marcus functions as the President and Director of Biblical Theology with the St. Peter Institute for Scripture and Evangelization.
