COVID-19 & COMPANION ANIMAL SETTINGS: Practical measures for protecting your team and your clients in returning back to business
This webinar is aimed at veterinarians, animal technicians, office managers, employees and volunteers in clinical or group animal settings. We review the latest understanding concerning the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causative agent for the COVID-19 disease; as it pertains to survivability, transmissibility and overall risk to individuals in typical clinical and non-clinical settings. A series of practical measures are discussed with regards to addressing critical control points in terms of infection and how to minimize risk, and protect yourself, your team and your clients. Consideration is given to minimizing disruption while phasing into the new normal in day-to-day operations.
Dr. Ramirez has over 25 years of experience in the field of chemical formulation. He holds over 20 patents covering disinfectant formulations for a variety of applications. He holds the original patents for Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP™) and worked extensively on the registration of the technology in many countries around the globe. Dr. Ramirez served as VP of Research & Development at Virox Technologies Inc until 2002, from which he went to work at Diversey Corp, leading the Global Research, Development & Engineering Division before leaving to work independently. Dr. Ramirez returns to his old home at Virox where he currently serves serves as Lead Science Advisor to the company. His expertise is in Disinfectant Formulation Chemistry
and all aspects related to their application in many different settings. Currently he serves as Executive VP for Virox Animal Health and Lead Science Advisor. Dr. Ramirez holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and an MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
