Why Movement Matters: Engaging Children Through Purposeful Activity
Join Emily Webster from Scholar’s Choice, with special guest Dr. Michael Trimberger, on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, at 8 p.m. EST for a webinar exploring hands-on learning, movement, and community within schools
In this session, learn about Mike's journey to integrate hands on opportunities, community engagement and movement throughout his School District. Mike will share how he took his high school from "worst to 1st", through hands on engagement and community partnerships, and how he then translated that to the elementary and middle school levels. As an early 1:1 device district, Random Lake was at the leading edge of device rollouts, and is now at the leading edge of balancing that tech overload in schools. Learn about their Structured Adventures program, which provides additional, structured outdoor or physical time each week (vs. adding more recess) and how this looks both inside and outside the classroom. Mike will also touch on the benefits they are seeing from the addition of 1-2 Self Regulation Classroom Cruisers into every elementary classroom, providing students the opportunity to move without leaving or disrupt the class.
