There is a common belief that real learning happens indoors, often with children sitting at a table or listening to an adult, while time spent outside is simply an opportunity to burn off energy. However, valuable learning happens naturally when children are outdoors, and recognising this is an important step towards appreciating the benefits of outdoor experiences.

In this session, we’ll explore how to identify the learning that takes place outdoors, recognise the value of these experiences, and confidently advocate for outdoor play. We’ll also address common concerns and challenges around spending time outside and discuss ways to overcome these barriers.
