About This PD Webinar

Active supervision in early childhood is often reduced to “keeping an eye on children,” yet the most effective supervision is far more intentional than that. It is about how educators position themselves, move through spaces, engage with children, and design environments that support both safety and learning. In this virtual session, participants will explore what active supervision really looks like across a range of indoor and outdoor early learning contexts—and why it matters for far more than compliance.

Grounded in research and everyday practice, this session focuses on tiny shifts that make a meaningful difference. Educators will examine how thoughtful, proactive supervision reduces risk while also supporting children’s wellbeing, learning, agency, and self-regulation. Practical strategies will be shared that can be implemented immediately, helping educators feel more confident, responsive, and intentional in their supervision decisions.
