Germany has published the National Hydrogen Strategy in June 2020 and approved € 9 billion mainly for green hydrogen production. Dr. Klaus Bonhoff (German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, former Managing Director of NOW) and Werner Diwald (Chairman of the board, German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association) will give an overview of the strategy, the German ambition and the next steps to implement it.

Werner Diwald has been representing the German Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association as Chairman of the Board of Directors since May 2014 and as Board member Hydrogen Europe since 2016. He has succeeded in introducing the topic of hydrogen and sector integration into German and European political programmes. Dr. Klaus Bonhoff is Head of the Fundamental Affairs Department at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. Prior to this, he was Managing Director and Spokesman of the Board of the National Organization Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW GmbH) for more than 12 years.
