Hydrogen as fuel in shipping can reduce emissions to zero with PEM fuel cell technology. A hydrogen production plant in a wind farm would open great opportunities for in-field bunkering, reducing operational range requirements and providing a zero-emission wind farm. Nedstack has been developing PEM fuel cell technology for over 20 years including maritime applications. Ulstein has designed hydrogen-powered hybrid vessels for offshore wind farms, using proven and readily available technology.

Madadh MacLaine is the Secretary General of the Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTAs) and CEO of Zero Emissions Maritime Technology limited. Her background is in sustainable development and sustainable shipping having designed a zero emissions cargo vessel to access goods at point of production in West Africa. She began working directly in commercial shipping to bring zero emissions technologies to the market in 2007.

Jogchum Bruinsma is maritime application manager at Nedstack. Jogchum holds a Masters degree in Control Systems Engineering. He is co-author of articles on the application of fuel cells. Previously, he has worked as a project engineer at Boskalis. He is also a board member of ZESTAs.
 
Nick Wessels graduated from nautical college and holds a bachelor degree in Maritime Management. He started in the offshore industry with Heerema, later he joined Holland Marine Equipment, leaving in 2007 as deputy director. Nick is now Marketing & Sales Manager for Ulstein Design & Solutions.
