About the Webinar

The IFSCC Henry Maso Award is given to the best paper published in the IFSCC Magazine by an Author 40 years or younger. The winner of the 2022 award was chosen among a record-number 11 papers published by young Authors in the IFSCC Magazine in 2020 and 2021.

The winner, Maxime Légues of CTI Biotech (France) wrote "The World's First 3D Bioprinted Immune Skin Model Suitable for Screening Drugs and Ingredients for Normal and Inflamed Skin". This model mimics early or actue stages of atopic dermatitis and testing is dose-responsive, reproducible and suitable for safety and efficacy screening.

Chair of the IFSCC Henry Maso Award Committee, Dr. Frédéric Leroy, will be this webinar's Guest Scientist, leading the Question and Answer period.

About Maxime Légues, CTI Biotech Cell Therapy Research Institute (France)

Maxime Lègues joined CTIBiotech in 2019 as 3D Bioprinting scientific researcher, involved in the development and characterization of 3D human living tissues in the fields of skin, oncology, immunology and infectious diseases. His previous experiences in renowned research organizations in both France (CEA, CNRS) and Switzerland (Novimmune) gave him extensive knowledge on innovative projects regarding 3D organoid formation, molecular biology and drug testing for clinical trials. Since 2020, Maxime Lègues is the 3D Bioprinting Manager of CTIBiotech, leading their diverse research and scientific programmes in the field of 3D Bioprinting, and adapting capacities to a production scale for screening drugs and ingredients for both cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies.

About Dr. Frédéric Leroy, IFSCC Chair of Science and this webinar's Guest Scientist

Formerly Director of Strategic Foresight at L’Oréal’s Scientific Directorate, Dr. Leroy began his career at Elf-Aquitaine. In 1984 he joined L’Oréal’s Advanced Research department where he has produced over 40 publications, more than 20 patents, and presented 60+ oral presentations and posters. Additionally, Dr. Leroy has taught at ENSTA, Paris, ESCP-Paris Tech, and the Université Paris 6. He earned both his MSc and PhD in Analytical Chemistry at University Paris VI, and graduated from ESPCI-Paris Tech. He joined the IFSCC’s Praesidium in the fall of 2016.

About Mary Lynn Halland, IFSCC Secretariat General and Webinar Host

Mary Lynn joined the IFSCC in January 2016. almost exactly 6 years ago. As Secretariat General she reports into the Praesidium (Board of Directors), supporting each of their Committees. As the only employee of the IFSCC she is responsible for it's day-to-day operations. She enjoys bringing science to scientists around the world.

About Perry Romanowski, IFSCC Chair of Education, Webinar Moderator

Perry oversees all IFSCC Education programs, including the IFSCC Webinar Series.
