About The Two Virtual Events

We are delighted to welcome you to the World Obesity Federation's SCOPE (Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education) School Global, held in conjunction with the 2nd UAE Obesity Conference, 2020. The theme of both events will be ’Obesity Across the lifespan’.
 
We have an excellent line up of speakers from the UAE, GCC, UK and USA including Dr Donna Ryan (Past-President of the World Obesity Federation and Professor Caroline Apovian (Director, Nutrition and Weight Management Center, Boston Medical Center and Professor of Medicine and Paediatrics, Boston University School of Medicine).
 
We look forward to hosting a comprehensive programme that makes an important contribution to the continuing professional development of healthcare professionals treating people with obesity. The program includes epidemiology, causes of obesity, complications of obesity (including obesity and COVID), and management of obesity as well as obesity in special situations including PCOS, pregnancy, childhood and in older adults.
 
Given the continuing impact of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and resulting restrictions, we have taken the decision to hold the SCOPE school and UOC conference as interactive virtual online meetings on October 22-24th and November 26-28th respectively.
