About Joshua Broadbent
Joshua Broadbent is a Sydney based freelance Stage Manager, who is currently touring Australia on Come From Away as an Assistant Stage Manager/Props.
Growing up in Lake Macquarie (New South Wales) Joshua found his interest in theatre at the age of 10 after joining a local Newcastle theatre company, Young People’s Theatre. While he enjoyed performing it was the technical side of theatre where he found his passion.
Joshua attended The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Production). During his final year he had the opportunity to work with some of the leading entertainment practitioners - Sydney New Year’s Eve (City of Sydney), Aida (Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour) and the premiere Matilda the Musical (Louise Withers and Associates).
Since graduating he continues to explore his passion through events, plays and musicals. Most notably in the last three years he has toured as the Calling Assistant Stage Manager on The Wizard of Oz (Crossroads Live, previously Gordon Frost Organisation) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Crossroads Live/ GFO), and as the Props/Assistant Stage Manager on Evita (Opera Australia and Crossroads Live/GFO).
