About Dennis Philipse
Dennis Philipse is a Dutch national, who has been living in Hong Kong since 2009. 

He worked for 20 years in the technology industry, leading Professional Services teams. In 2020 he left his company to follow his heart and passion to focus full-time working as a volunteer on Gay Games 11 Hong Kong 2022. He’s passionate about creating a place of belonging, making a difference, and improving inclusiveness through organising sport events together with an amazing team of volunteers. In 2014, he created “Out in HK”, the platform with more than 6,500 members on Facebook for sports, fitness and outdoor events for the LGBT+ community in Hong Kong. In 2016, he became the founder and co-chair of the organisation that bid and won for Gay Games 11 to be held in Hong Kong in 2022, bringing the Gay Games for the first time to Asia. In his free time, Dennis enjoys ultra-trail running and hiking on the beautiful trails of Hong Kong and spending time outdoors together with his boyfriend and friends. Dennis was also a TEDx speaker, sharing his “Journey of Bringing The Gay Games for the First Time to Asia.”
