Battery technologies are becoming increasingly common at sea, whether carried as cargo, installed in electric vehicles transported on ferries, or used as a vessel's primary or hybrid power source. These developments present new challenges for maritime search and rescue (SAR) services responding to fires and other emergencies.

In this webinar, Roly McKie, IMRF IMO Representative and SAR Adviser, and David Lange, Associate Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Queensland, will examine battery-related risks in the maritime environment and their implications for SAR operations.
