A horse’s natural balance is on the forehand, which is easy for grazing. Horses are not designed to carry people. Even more weight is added to the front legs so your horse has a higher risk for front leg injuries.
If we want to ride our horse, it's our responsibility to help our horses get more balanced so they can carry us in a healthy way.
Therefore we need a systematic set of gymnastic exercises in a logical order. We can explain this to our horse on the ground to prepare him/her physically and mentally for carrying the weight of a rider.
